Harry Keeble

Harry Keeble is a tenor saxophonist based in Brandon, County Durham in the North East of England. Originally from Hastings, Harry grew up surrounded by music. He began playing piano aged five, before taking up saxophone as his second instrument aged nine. At sixteen years old, he began performing professionally in a number of different styles, and ensemble set-ups.

At 18, he attended Leeds Conservatoire for a three year jazz performance course where he received a first-class degree. During this time, he studied under internationally recognised jazz musicians, namely Edgar Jones and Joel Purnell who were his one-to-one saxophone tutors. Developing quickly as a jazz musician, he got the opportunity to perform in Leeds, and further afield many times.

After graduating in 2019, he moved to Newcastle where he and his partner, Abbie Finn, began to embed themselves in the scene there. During this time, Harry and Abbie formed a trio with bassist Paul Grainger, and in 2020, they released their first album, ‘Northern Perspective’, which is available here. They were described as “Exceptional British jazz” by Chris Philips from Jazz FM.

In 2020, Harry formed his quartet, with bassist Andy Champion, guitarist Mark Williams, and drummer Abbie Finn. Together, they released an EP in 2021 called ‘The Beacon’ and have recently finished recording their first full album. For more information on this band, please visit the ‘Harry Keeble Quartet’ page on this website. You can hear the band here.

Since then, Harry has performed all across the country, having played jazz festivals in Durham, Newcastle, Manchester and many more, has performed at prestigious venues such as the Pizza Express on Dean Street in Soho, Jazz in the Round at the Cockpit in London, Band on the Wall in Manchester and many others.
